San Cristóbal Travel Agency

                                                   

Creada en 1996 por Eusebio Leal Spengler, Historiador de La Habana, la Agencia de Viajes San Cristóbal rememora el nombre del santo patrono de esta ciudad, quien era venerado como el protector de los viajeros en el mundo cristiano.

Since its early days the agency specializes in heritage tourism mainly focused on Havana's Historic Center and its strongholds system, iconic buildings and locations which were declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO in 1982. The entity's goal is to foster a professional approach garnered around the inmense heritage values of Havana's Historic Center, and extensive to the entire city and other areas of touristic, historic and natural relevance in the country.

At the present, the services of San Cristóbal cover the entire Network of Offices of City Historians and the Curator of Cuba.

It is licit that Heritage generate the resources needed for its own recovery without representing a burden to any State (…). Tourism can be an energizing force, a boost of propsperity and understanding; a stream of communication among peoples instead of a threat, as long as an efficient management is accomplished (…). It would be selfish to try to keep our borders sealed airtight, since Heritage only finds means for its preservation once it opens up...

Our Aspiration

Contribute to the comprehensive rehabilitation of heritage and to local development by means of earnings that help guarantee the economic sustainability of the business management model approved by the Office of the City Historian of Havana for the upkeep and revitalization of the territory.

Guías profesionales


La Agencia cuenta con un equipo de guías de alto nivel profesional, (premisa indispensable para el trabajo que se realiza en la Agencia) seleccionados intencionalmente a partir de su calificación  (generalmente graduados de la Facultad de Lenguas Extranjeras de la Universidad de La Habana y  con dominio de dos o tres idiomas cada uno).

Para ellos se desarrolla una estrategia de habilitación y  capacitación directa en la que intervienen directivos de primer nivel de las principales entidades de la Oficina del Historiador de la Ciudad de La Habana. Esta tarea contribuye a alcanzar el alto nivel de preparación en historia, cultura, patrimonio y educación ambiental, pero también a su sensibilización y compromiso con el proyecto del que forman parte.
